Up she stood, with really careful and slow movements. She picked up her backpack and her sandals (she loved walking barefooted since she was little), and swiftly checked her surroundings to make sure she was not forgetting anything. Then, up the little grassy hill on her right she walked.

The hill was not really steep, yet the girl felt like she was lifting invisible heavy boulders attached to her feet every step she took. It took her around one minute to approach the exact point where her gaze could look above the curvature on top of the hill, but when she got to that spot, she failed to have the courage to keep her eyes open. She walked a handful of steps more, until she noticed that her next step would have placed her right foot below her left. She breathed a deep sigh, and then finally separated her eyelids again.

Lo and behold, there were still a medium density of tree crowns just around the height of the horizon. No surprises there, it is not as if there was a different amount of trees on the other side of the hill anyway. But wait, what is there, slightly on the left, where there are no crowns? The ambient light was just dim enough that the far silhouette of a conglomerate of low structures could be seen, together with a really calm sea behind it.

The girl was shook from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. In utter disbelief, she raised her left hand and pointed at the 90% black silhouette. After a handful of seconds, she exclaimed with an ever raising volume of her voice: "That is... a lake with no ends... And some buildings... PER GIOVE! THALASSA! WE REACHED IT, AMICUS!". The invisible boulders on her feet dissolved in a jiffy. She felt a spark of energy whizzing throughout her body, and she unconsciously smiled.

Each fibre of her body wanted to sprint towards the city as fast as she could, but Amicus, as methodical as ever, interrupted her intention by signalling "WALK MAIN ROAD". "Ah, yea, ops, right right, it would be REALLY inconvenient if they saw me running out of the forest" quickly thought the girl. She aimed to disclose her "Peculiar Abilities" only to a selected group of frequenters of Thalassa, the appropriately named "Super Set". Or, at least, that had been her dream and her driving passion for the last 2 travelling years of her life. Thalassa, the Welcoming City, must have had a job offer for a 20-year old girl like her, and once officially in, you could bet she would have found a way to contact this Super Set.

The girl literally felt a huge burden she carried lifting away for her, never to be returned again. All that travelling was finally paying off. She never felt as strong feelings of joy and accomplishment as the ones she felt when spotting Thalassa. And she kept these feelings all the way toward the seaside city. Riding the top of the ridge of the long hill and keeping Thalassa on her right, she met again the main road in 10 minutes. Then, an effortless task: walking the last two kilometres or so of a gently descending straightish dirty path to reach the entrance of Thalassa.

The aim of this blog

Hello explorer of the Internet, I hope you are having a great day! I have been dreaming for a long time to start something similar to a blog page. This post that you are reading right now is the culmination of all my efforts to understand what platform and / or website would be best to use for my goal of creating a blog page. In other words, I think that Blogger may just provide what I was looking for. The aim of this blog is to write about whatever fascinates me. So, I will sporadically add a post here and there explaining the conclusions I landed at after studying a random topic. Or maybe I will just write a post about something very trivial which caught my attention. We will see where I will end up. I might write very few posts. I might write a lot. "Fixing" the Trebuchet font in Blogger

And I immediately stumbled upon a little annoyance in Blogger, gosh freaking darn it. Look, I can set the theme to "Essential Light" just fine. I can change each type of font appearing in the theme itself to Trebuchet, no big deal. As long as I do not select Trebuchet, I can also choose any font face (default or downloaded) in the Blogger Post Editor without issue. But if I dare to select "Trebuchet" as the font in the Post Editor... Oh boy, we have issues! The font displayed is like a super skinny Times New Roman, or something serif which looks HORRIBLE and it is almost unreadable. And publishing the post fixes NOTHING. Luckily, I already found two workarounds. 1) If I switch to "HTML view" in the Post Editor, and if I replace each occurrence of <span style="font-family: trebuchet;"> with <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"> the freaking Post Editor shows the font correctly (and publishing should work fine too).
